Dedicated to the memory of Pat

This site is a tribute to Cecily, more usually known as Pat, who was born in Bromley, Kent on August 30, 1937.

Beloved wife, sister, mother of two daughters, grandmother to six, and foster mother for 52 babies and toddlers under two years of age, she is much loved and will always be remembered.

It was always a dream of Cecily's (Pat) to help children in need which was finally realised when she was 60. Instead of retiring, she became a foster parent with Chas and they spent the following 19 years caring for and nurturing babies, with the majority starting their lives with the couple from birth until their first 18 months of life.

The NSPCC Childrens Charity believes that "every child is worth fighting for" and has been chosen in dedication of Pat.

Thoughts

The Star A light went out on Earth for me The day we said goodbye And on that day a star was born, The brightest in the sky Reaching through the darkness With its rays of purest white Lighting up the Heavens As it once lit up my life With beams of love to heal The broken heart you left behind Where always in my memory Your lovely star will shine

Legacy of Love A wife, a mother, a grandma too, This is the legacy we have from you You taught us love and how to fight You gave us strength, you gave us might. A stronger person would be hard to find, And in your heart you were always kind. You fought for us all in one way or another Not just as a wife, not just as a mother. For all of us you gave your best And now the time has come for you to rest. So go in peace, you've earned your sleep, Your love in our hearts we'll eternally keep.

God Looked Around His Garden God looked around his garden And found an empty place He then looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face He put his arms around you And lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering He knew you were in pain He knew that you would never Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids And said, "Peace be thine". It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Melissa Shreve Love you Mum, hard to believe you won't be there at the end of the phone every week, but I know you are at peace now. With all my love forever, Denise x
